Recent news and research has brought more light on why pesticides are harmful to our health, (brain damage in children, birth defects, cancer and so on.) In light of this news, I'd like to share a rating system I obtained from a Doctor regarding pesticides in our food. As of late, my rule of thumb has been...if I eat the skin, it's best to buy organic or pesticide free. Click here for a list is a little more comprehensive!
The following fruits and vegetables are ranked by how much pesticides they soak up through their skin, and are then consumed by us. They are listed by greatest /worst to least, 100 being the worst.
