In the spirit of authenticity and commitment, I want to share with you my resolution and intention for my life and Miko Yoga in 2012.
My resolution is simple - let go...sounds easy. I've realized that my constant aspiration of perfection is suffocating and creating undo stress in my life. My intention is to let go of my desire to complete every item on my never ending list of things to get done.
Shifting my perspective on my "need" to get things done to a place of "want" to get things done, will open my heart and release the burden of the never ending tasks. Can I do the laundry joyfully? How about driving to work? Not everything needs to be a means to an end, we can actually appreciate what we are doing when we are doing it, regardless of the task. It does not matter whether we get everything complete we had hoped to complete in a given day, it matters how we approach completing each activity or task. I find that when I obsess about getting things done, there is a loaded anchor around my ankle, dragging me down, making me heavy, and waiting to explode. If I can only take a moment to breathe, appreciate, and mindfully complete what I am doing, that anchor disappears, and I go to sleep satisfied and refreshed regardless of what was or was not done that day.
So, along with this intention of letting go, it is my intention for Miko Yoga to let go of my Saturday mornings once per month in order to share it with all of you with a yoga class. I know this sounds contradictory to my already stated resolution and intention of letting go, but it is not. Many of you have asked for Saturday class, you and this little studio is very important to me, and so I believe that I will add Saturday class mindfully and joyfully in order to further share the gift of yoga with our growing community of yogis.
Thank you for being a part of Miko Yoga and helping me to grow in my yoga and life alongside you.
Sharing your resolutions and intention as I have done is a good way to commit to what you are setting out to accomplish. If you'd like to share your commitment to yourself for the New Year, please post and share it below!

After much consideration...my resolution is to try to live in the moment. Not in gulit or regret along with being more forgiving of myself and others.
Thank you Timarie for bringing awareness and mindfulness into my life.
Namaste,
Jeanette
