All Hail to Kale!

Kale is a tasty and easy to use superfood....I know, you thought this was just a garnish used at restaurants, but it is actually a great source of phytonutrients, (plant based nutrients,) including sulfur, carotenoids, vitamins A, C, and B6, calcium, manganese, potassium, and copper.

Sulfur - the presence of sulfur in Kale puts it in the family with collards, cabbage, brussel sprouts, and broccoli. Working synergistically with other phytonutrients, sulfur helps to prevent various types of cancer including breast, stomach, ovarian and colon cancers.

Carotenoids - beneficial for the eyes in preventing cataracts.

Vitamin C - prevents damage to cells be removing free radicals from the body. Vitamin C also helps oxidize cholesterol, renews and strengthens collagen in the skin to give you a young and healthy appearance. In addition, it reduces inflammation in the body, a chief cause of heart disease.

Manganese - a fat-burner that aids in metabolizing and using energy from carbohydrates and protein.

Calcium - working in unison with vitamin A and vitamin K2 strengthens bones and even helps reverse osteoporosis.

As if the above wasn't enough, kale's curly shape helps to cleanse and stimulate the intestines and overall digestive system.
